Paul Mullins Photography

With over 10 years experience in media and celebrity photographing, you can be sure your wedding pics will be in good hands with Paul.

"The setting may change, but for me there are always opportunities when you can position people in places and locations where camera and light combine, to produce incredibly unique photographs. That’s the essence of good photography. The camera is but the instrument; creative thinking, spotting the angles, and being at ease with people makes the difference. I have a deep passion for wedding photography, the reaction I get when I pass over the photos is amazing, it's a moment I look forward to after all my weddings. I like to delight and surprise my bride and grooms with memories they can cherish for life."

DoART Wedding Films

Duarte is a Dublin based, full-time wedding videographer, but he will also travel nationwide to record your special day. He set up DoART Wedding Films in 2010 and hasn't looked back since.

"I take real pride in barely being noticed, often mistaken as a guest and I truly treasure working in a non-intrusive approach. I love capturing those true moments, where a gaze or a smile brings the authenticity of each unique love story. I love being able to give them the chance to re-live the most amazing day of their lives, through beautifully edited films, so they can share it with family and friends, in a lovely highlights version."

Duarte's top tips:

"My two tips for choosing your videographer are number one, look for a style of videography that you like and that you feel would look good for you. Check what’s included in the video package, as some might have hidden extras that you’re not taking into account with the offered price."

Chantilly Lace Bridesmaids

Based in the heart of Limerick city, Chantilly Lace offer a fab selection of exclusive bridesmaid dresses, that will flatter every figure. They stock a wide range of designs including JLM Couture, True Bride Luna, Watters, WTOO, Christina Wu and Seahorse Girls. "If you are looking for an exclusive, unique and beautiful bridesmaid dress, then look no further. At Chantilly Lace, we pride ourselves on offering a personal one-to-one service with expert knowledge of bridesmaid dresses, ensuring you find the perfect dress and accessories to suit your bridesmaids, and your big day. While we are based in Limerick, we work with bridal parties not only across Ireland but worldwide."

Bridesmaid trends for 2016:

"Capped sleeves are another alternative to strapless gowns - barely there sleeves flatter the shoulder, while offering enough coverage. Mismatch dresses, one colour in different styles, one style in different colours or different shades of neutrals/pastels - rules are there to be broken! Tea-length dresses with tulle or chiffon for a tutu inspired effect and one-shoulder or strapless dresses are perfect for showing off just the right amount of skin. The one-shoulder will give you the best of both worlds, while still looking classic and elegant. "

Chantilly's best advice:

"Don’t bring your entire bridal party into the shop, the first time you start looking - take your Mum and maybe your chief bridesmaid and have them help you narrow down your initial choices. Once you have your favourites, invite the rest of the party and we can set aside those styles to show them. Once ordered, dresses can take anything between 12 to 18 weeks to arrive so brides should aim to have the dresses at least 4 weeks before the big day. Be sure you factor in time for alterations as you don’t want to be worrying about this the week of the wedding. Also, do some pre-shopping research - this will ensure the best shopping experience and it can save you and your bridesmaids time trying on different dresses."

The Flour Artist

Julie, having previously worked as a pastry chef in restaurants, she decided to make a change and try something new and set up her own business last year. "My cakes are quite unique, in that I primarily use fresh and edible flowers in the design and every cake I create is tailor-made for each individual couple. Having a background in restaurants, I am always experimenting with different flavour combinations, and love using fruits, spices and herbs in my cakes. One of my favourite new recipes, for example, is the pear, blackberry and ginger crumble sponge or my apple and rosemary cake."

Cake trends for 2016:

"Luckily for me, fresh and edible flowers are huge again this year - I personally feel they are the only way to go, especially for the spring/summer weddings. They always enhance the beauty and vibrancy of a cake and the possibilities are endless. Drip cakes are also all the rage, whether it’s your classic dark chocolate ganache drip or a rich caramel drip, they always seem to look impressive and quite cool."

Julie's best advice for couples:

"I always encourage couples to meet up with their cake decorator - I like to have an informal cake tasting with each couple, so I can discuss design, flowers and colours, over a pot of tea. This way I can really get to know their vision and this enables me to create a design tailor-made for them. Another thing to keep in mind, is that you should make sure to book your wedding date with your cake designer early on, especially if you’re getting married in a peak season like the summer or Christmas time, to avoid disappointment."

Ring O'Roses

Most couples have a vision and it's our job to bring that vision to life, specialising in all things floral, from beautiful bouquets to fabulous ceremony flowers and elegant venue displays."

Floral trends for 2016:

"This year a lot of bridesmaids are wearing pinks, lilacs, deep plums and creams and the big floral style for 2016/2017, is the totally natural look. Foliage plays a big part in these bouquets, but there is no shortage of fabulous flowers. We create the perfect bouquets, taking your height into consideration. You don’t want a bouquet that hides you!"

Laura Halvey Makeup Artist

Laura specialises in wedding makeup in Limerick and the surrounding Munster areas but will travel to you on the morning of the wedding, to take the stress out of it.

"I have many years experience in Makeup Artistry, covering all aspects including weddings, hen parties, editorials, photo shoots, events, graduations and special effects makeup. Wedding packages for more than four is €50pp and for three, it is €60pp, but depending where you live there may be added travel costs. A trial is advised beforehand to be sure you get the look you want and one that suits you. I use only the best of products and I cater for all ages and skin types."

Makeup Trends for 2016:

"Trends should be followed to a certain extent - take parts of certain trends and combine them with a makeup look that suits you and your features. Teaming classic with current always works well for bridal makeup. Your wedding day isn’t the time to experiment with red lipstick or smokey eyes for the first time. The goal is to bring out your best features and to make you look like you, only better! The next big bridal makeup trend is all about flawless, beautiful skin. We will definitely be seeing a softer contour, with more strobing for a glowing, natural, and perfect finish on the skin."

Laura's best advice:

"Cleanse, tone and moisturise every morning and evening, use a night cream as your nightly moisturiser and exfoliate your face and neck twice a week. Don’t try any new products up to three weeks before your wedding – this includes skincare, hair care and makeup. Any kind of a reaction, it could take a couple of weeks to calm down, which the last thing you need before your big day! Drink enough water and while this is the oldest trick in the book, it's the answer to youthful, fresh and glowing skin - it will clear the skin of toxins and keep it plump and hydrated."

At Amy Daunt Event Style, we love making things wonderful, especially weddings. We adore weddings and love creating personal and romantic days, entwining our client’s personalities into all the aesthetic elements."

Trends For 2016:

"For 2016, it's all about doing it your way - throw the wedding rule book out the window and make your own rules. If you want your wedding to be timeless and personal look into the mirror, what makes you the couple that you are? If you are guided by certain trends, make them your own and put your own take on it. Mix it up and look at your day differently, guests will love this and so will you."

Amy's best advice:

"Our advice is to kick back and enjoy the ride - this is an amazing time in your life. You are creating memories that will last a lifetime, so don’t rush into making any hasty decisions - what will be will be. Trust me, I changed my wedding date and venue just three months before I was skipping down the aisle, but everything worked out just the way it should have in the end. Live, laugh and love, you’re getting married after all!"
